Alison Butterill, World Wide IBM i Product Manager
Alison is working on the Power Systems Software Team. She is a IBM Certified Senior Consulting I/T Specialist; certified in IBM i, Application Development and DB2 for i. Having worked in the mid-range area for more than 25 years, Alison has held a wide variety of positions at IBM, primarily with midrange servers and software. She has held a range of positions including field Systems Engineer, Offering Manager and National Support Representative for IBM Canada. Alison is a regular speaker at user group meetings, technical conferences, COMMON events and IBM customers in many countries around the world. She holds numerous Speaker Excellence medals from COMMON North America.

 

Mike Cain is a Senior Technical Staff Member within the IBM Systems and Technology Group focusing on DB2 for i performance and scalability.
Prior to his current position, he worked as an IBM AS/400 Systems Engineer and Technical Consultant. Before joining IBM in 1988, Mike worked as a System/38 programmer and DP Manager for a property and casualty insurance company. Mike has extensive experience working with customers and business partners, and uses this knowledge to influence the solutions, development and support processes. He is located in Rochester, MN USA.

Richard Dolewski is a certified disaster recovery planner with over 25 years of experience in Information Technology. He has extensive subject matter experience in Disaster Recovery Planning, High Systems Availability, Backup & Recovery Program Design, and Cloud Computing Architecture.

Gunnar Elmgren, EVRY
Gunnar Elmgren har arbetat med IBM-system sedan slutet av 70-talet.
Då handlade det om S/34, S/36 och S/38, som i slutet av 80-talet ersattes av den formidabla succén AS/400.
Idag handlar det om IBM:s POWER-servers, gärna i kombination med IBM:s lagringslösningar.
Fram till 1999 fanns Gunnar hos IBM som supporttekniker och konsult, därefter hos SYSteam som för ett par år sedan blev EVRY.
Han arbetar bland annat med infrastruktur-design, dimensionering, tillgänglighetslösningar och driftsättningsprojekt hos både små och stora företag som har IBM POWER som bas för sina affärskritiska IT-system.”

Charles Guarino, founder and President of Central Park Data Systems, Inc
With an IT career spanning over 30 years, Charles Guarino has been an enterpriseapplication consultant for most of them. Since 1995 he has been founder and President of Central Park Data Systems, Inc.,
a Long Island based IBM midrange consulting company. He has published numerous technical and strategic articles for the IT community and speaks each year at conferences and user groups across the country.
He was inducted into COMMON’s Speaker Excellence Hall of Fame in 2008 and also selected as one of LISTnet’s Long Island’s Twenty Top Techies for 2009. In 2010 he was accepted as a national member of the National Speakers Association and is also an active member of the New York City Chapter. Charles is currently a COMMON Application Development Subject Matter Expert and President and monthly Q&A host of LISUG, a Long Island IBM System i Users Group.

Maria Hiort, Acount Manager, Symtrax
Maria Hiort bor och arbetar i Frankrike sedan 20 år tillbaka. Efter universitetsutbildning med masterexamen från Sorbonne med fokus på internationella språk, ekonomi och juridik och med en påbyggnadsexamen i Internationell Business följer flera års erfarenhet i Paris som “Research Executive” på den internationella avdelningen hos mediamätningsinstitutet Médiamétrie (motsvarar MMS i Sverige).
Sedan 8 år tillbaka är Maria ansvarig för Symtrax affärsutveckling av Output Management och Business Intelligence-projekt för Skandinavien, Benelux och Frankrike, med spetskompetens inom IBM i-miljön.
Marias ambition är att vara lyhörd för kundernas behov och kunna ta fram effektiva lösningar.

Jimi Inge, Tieto
Jimi is a Product Manager with a passion to translate market needs into technology. With an open mind to explore new ways and alternatives, Jimi has a proven ability to further developing strategies and products. Jimi often drives the innovation from initial stages through to the final solution, always aiming to create value for both end users and business.Jimi manages over 1200 Power System environments in the Nordics and he has over 15 years of experience in the IT industry. He worked at IBM for 11 years and currently works for an ISV and Business Partner to IBM, Tieto. Jimi’s areas of expertise include design of services and products with focus on Power Systems, cloud and capacity. He has published a number of articles on Virtualization and Capacity and Jimi is one of the co-writers behind the bible of virtualization (IBM PowerVM Redbook). He received the IBM Smarter Business Partner of the year 2011 award for a solution built on virtualization and Power Systems.

Dan Johansson, IBM
Dan är en gammal räv som i princip tillbringat hela sitt yrkesverksamma liv på IBM. Vid inställningsintervjun fick han frågan om hade hade pass? Om inte, skaffa ett omgående för du ska till Mainz eftersom man bestämt att IBM Sverigeskulle ta över all skrivartillvekning. Tyskarna skulle i stället satsa på en helt ny teknologi “schallplatten”. Dvs. skivminnen, och då kan man ju lätt förstå hur länge sen det var Med tiden har Dan blivit skapligt duktig inom området backup/recovery och det händer allt som oftast att BRMS-utvecklarna i Rochester kontaktar honom och vill ha synpunkter.

Mats Lidström, Chief Technical Architect på företaget International Copyright Enterprise, även kallat ICE.
Mats Lidström har jobbat med IBM i plattformen och dess föregångare sedan 1987. Det i roller som utvecklare, utvecklingschef, IT-chef och nu Chief Technical Architect.

Philippe Magne, Founder, CEO and Chairman at ARCAD Software
Has been at the forefront of developments in the IBM i platform for over 25 years. Initially qualifying in software engineering at the University of Villeurbanne in Lyon, Magne spent a formative period as IBM i developer in the company Cap Sogeti. Assigned to military service at the European Space Agency in French Guyana, Magne was soon appointed Quality Service Manager with the objective to redefine the quality and reliability of Information Systems on IBM i. This 3-year period was decisive in Magne’s career, and in 1989 resulted in the launch of the “ARCAD” project, founded and directed by Magne in accordance with the ESA. Back in France, in Haute Savoie, Magne created the ARCAD Software company to assure the development and the marketing of his software. Alone the first few years, he quickly attracted a highly skilled technical team, diversifying the ARCAD technology and methodologies across open systems.Alongside, Magne is a devoted drummer, playing rock and jazz. In any band, the drummer plays a pivotal role, listening to the other players, driving the tempo and changing the beat; a fitting parallel for his management style.

Åke H Olsson, PDB
Åke H Olsson är seniorkonsult på PDB Datasystem i Jönköping och arbetar bland annat med arkitektur och infrastrukturfrågor på IBM i.

Mike Pavlak, Zend Technologies
Mike Pavlak has been working with IBM midrange solutions since 1992 and IBM Mainframes before that. After years of developing applications using RPG, CL and PHP he managed IT development and IT for power protection manufacturer Tripp Lite. Mike joined Zend Technologies as a Solutions Consultant working with the IBM sales team in 2008 and enjoys helping IBM i customers explore PHP as a state of the art solution for application modernization. In addition to several roles as a volunteer with COMMON the premier IBM midrange user group, Mike also teaches PHP classes part time at Moraine Valley Community College in Suburban Chicago.

Kim Quarnström, Load Solution AB
Kim Quarnström har över 13 år erfarenhet av server/storage. Han inledde sin karriär på IBM där han arbetade i olika roller inom System & Technology Group i 7 år innan han lämnade för återförsäljareledet.
Idag arbetar han som VD på Load Solution; en av EMC:s främsta systemintegratörer som är djupt specialiserade inom informationsinfrastruktur – lagring, backup, arkivering & virtualisering.

Tim Rowe, Business Architect for Application Development for IBM i
Tim Rowe has been working with IBM for 20+ years within the IBM i family in Rochester, Minnesota. He spent many years working on the Work Management portion of the operating system before moving into Web based middle ware on IBM i a number of years ago. He is currently the Business Architect for Application Development for IBM i. These responsibilities include technical leadership responsibilities ensuing the IBM i platform has the infrastructure and components required for our IBM i customers to successfully develop, build and run applications on IBM i. Working with Rational and WebSphere on a day-to-day basis gives Tim the opportunity to understand how these product work and how they integrate into an overall picture of Application Development on IBM i. Additional areas for which Tim has responsibility include the IBM HTTP Server, Web Administration GUI interface, Integrated Web Application Server for i, Web Service Server for i, and other application components

Gottfried Schimunek, IBM Senior Architect
Gottfried Schimunek is a Senior Architect with IBM and has been taking a lead role in application and product development projects for over 25 years. Currently he is the Program Manager and Technical Consultant for IBM i on IBM Power Systems and PureFlex in the ISV Enablement team in Rochester, Minnesota. His primary interests are performance measurement analysis and capacity planning of applications. Lars-Olov Spångberg, Handelsbankens IT-säkerhetsavdelning
Lars-Olov Spångberg har arbetat med IBM i serverplattformen och dess föregångare i över 30 år, 27 av dessa inom olika positioner på IBM. Är sedan 2007 anställd på Handelsbankens IT-säkerhetsavdelning.
